McCall is a picturesque mountain lake resort community located in the center of the Payette National Forest along the south shore of Payette Lake. For years, McCall thrived as a prosperous mining and timber community. Today it is a popular mountain lake resort town offering an abundance of outdoor recreation and numerous shopping and dining establishments.
Directions: Located 100 miles northwest of Boise, McCall is only 2 hours from Boise via Scenic Hwy 55 along the Payette River. McCall also has a municipal airport with McCall Air Taxi service to/from McCall.
Climate: McCall offers four-seasons with mild temperatures in the winter between 15-30 degrees and summer between 75-85 degrees. In the winter, McCall is known for its famous powder snow conditions, "The Best Snow in Idaho", and its long tradition of holding the Winter Carnival, a week long winter celebration of ice sculpting, parades, entertainment and parties. Summer brings fun in the sun on Payette Lake and Payette River and an abundance of hiking and biking on trails minutes from town in the Payette National Forest and Ponderosa State Park. McCall has five golf courses within a 10 mile radius of downtown and has active tennis association. Summer also brings thousands of people to McCall for the 4th of July Fireworks Celebration in the center of town. Fall and spring bring the changing of the seasons with beautiful colors and early and late season hiking and fishing.
